New tops for the girls

Whilst at Kindergym yesterday, I spotted a little girl wearing a cute pale pink T-shirt, with a doily covered in white buttons and a little pink bow. It was so sweet.....I decided to make one each for my girls.

I drove straight to Target and bought 2 red T-shirts. They were on sale for $5.60.

Popped across the road to my favourite Op-shop and snapped up 4 doilys for $1.50.

Raced home to raid my button jar, and delight in choosing a nice range of vintage and new.

Arrange them a few times, decide which looks best. Sew the doily to the T.

Hand sew the buttons on and ..there you have it!

Really quick, easy and super cute! (if I do say so myself)

Butterfly stamp goodness

I made thank you cards to send for Miss E's Birthday. Loving my new butterfly punch.
Cut down some white cardboard to fit the size of the spare envelopes I had at home.
Punch out butterflys from some Amy Butler scrapbook paper I already had.
Glue them on! Too easy.

Popped across town to check out the vintage shops at Croydon. Came home with 3.5m of this little beauty.

Wheat Bags

These wheat bags came together really quickly. I always find the longest part of sewing, is choosing the fabric and cutting it out.

All were excited about hopping into bed with a warm wheat bag. And the chatting about where one could lay the wheat bag was hilarious. 2 minutes in the microwave with a cup of water next to it so the wheat doesnt dry out.

And your all set for a good nights sleep.

Now I think I might need one of my own in pretty colours. Im also going to try putting some lavender in with my wheat, to make it smell nice.

Baby its cold outside!

Cold snap here in little old Adelaide.
Master J is always borrowing my wheat bag to take to bed... leaving me out in the cold!

So, Ive had all 3 kids go through my fabric stash to choose a few favourite fabrics, and Im going to make them their own wheat bags.

So they can all be cuddled up, warm and toastie, in bed.

The earlier the better!!

My baby is 4!

My last baby Miss E turns 4 today so we are cooking her favourite meal and a Birthday cake.We have also hit the streets to test out her new bike.

Autumn is here, bringing its cold weather over the last few days. Today is mild and sunny, and the leaves are beginning to change.

The lemons are ripe.

And I found this healthy succulent. Im going to take a cutting from it when I go for another ride after school....Does anyone else do that?? My garden if full of freebie cuttings I gather along my walks in the neighbourhood. The basket on the front of Miss Es bike will come in handy to carry them home.

And these are mine. Pierre de Ronsard - I Love them.

I also love my veggies, although they are in need of a lot of work. They are overgrown with weeds and grass, but a few ever faithfuls have managed to find a space to grow.

Got to start somewhere.

Im starting a blog! I read all kinds of blogs daily, mainly food, craft, design and home. I am always so inspired by these busy ladies, Im hoping it will rub off a bit and get a little more productivity happening here!

I always cook every day, because that is really my love ( the eating that is), but I would like to fit in a little more craft, sewing and home decorating. Its not not the lack of jobs and projects to be done around this house..... Its more the lack of time and focused energy..and possibly organisation!

Ive had one of those days today where you get everything done and its only midday! Ive put some bread in the breadmaker, meat soup is bubbling away on the stove (Good old fashioned meat, veggies and pearl barley soup like Grandma used to make) but here we call it meat soup....so the kids will eat it! Ive baked a chocolate cake to take in to my sons class to celebrate finishing the NAPLAN testing today. I know Mother of the year!!!

Also I turned 40 this year, and its time to do some things for myself.

So, Cheers! Hang around and see if I can get my act into gear and get anything done!
